impact of air pollution at Dukathole Township

I visited Dukathole Township situated south of Germiston,which is formed 19 years ago.Closer to township there is a industrial area called Industrial South.My visit was in connection with air quality that community of Dukathole breath,I interview a lady who sell fruits and vegetables around the area,she told me there is a bad smell coming from industries and white dust that blows all over the area.I also interview employeer that working for company that release white dust,he emphasize their not working good condition because white dust called rhiinolight,they mixed different sands and make ceillng,rhinoglite and others,he told me that they inhale dust and blows all over,he mention that they expriencing chest blockage,rash,flu and other related respiratory illnesses,he told me that they report respiratory illnesses regurlaly to their clinic.I also visit the clinic i met receptionist by the name Sipho and other nurses,i ask about the quality of air they breath and its impact in the community,They mention to me a company called Germiston mill(tongaat Hulett Starch)that release bad smell everyday, especially on fridays there is a smell that caused people headache,they also mentioned that last year during November they were experiencing bad smell all over the community that caused people to dizzy,

We need to ensure that our workplaces,communities are made aware of poor air quality around them and again develop a knowledge that can serve to educate our communities that they care about their health
